Best for ages 0 to 5, but all dancers are welcome! We'll put on a kid-friendly dance video and rock out!
Did you know that music is tied to early literacy? Research shows that music enhances phonological awareness, vocabulary acquisition, and motor skills—all necessary for reading and writing. The patterns, rhymes, and rhythms of songs are a natural way for children to practice literacy skills. For example, children connect with language by clapping to the beat or predicting rhyming words. And have you noticed that it's easier to remember the words and tunes of songs than to memorize text? Retention is an essential key to literacy.
So let's have fun singing and dancing and practicing early literacy skills!
Registration is appreciated, but not required. Drop-ins are welcome.
