Program Description

Event Details

All people, regardless of their gender, race, and sexual orientation, have a right to equal access to education, healthcare, and voting rights. In the last 400 years, Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame inductees have fought discrimination and persevered to reduce the societal disparities felt amongst women, transgender people, immigrants, and people of color. Some of the inductees highlighted are: Maria Miller Stewart, Constance Baker Motley, Ann Stanback, Jerimarie Liesegang, Kica Matos, and Teresa Younger.

The Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame honors the achievements of women by celebrating their legacies and telling their powerful stories, inspiring women and girls to realize their own limitless potential. Founded in 1994 in Hartford, Connecticut, the Hall fills the void that traditional curricula still fail to address and, today, stands as the state’s premier source for Connecticut women’s history with 148 inductees. These women’s lives and accomplishments are celebrated and documented through a wide spectrum of innovative statewide programs offered to Connecticut citizens.
