For its January reading, Wintonbury Poetry Series is pleased to have Luisa Caycedo-Kimura and Versatile Poetiq read.
Luisa Caycedo-Kimura is a Colombian-born writer, educator, and the author of All Were Limones (The Word Works, 2025), winner of the Hillary Tham Capital Collection competition. Other honors include a Connecticut Office of the Arts Emerging Recognition Award, a John K. Walsh Residency Fellowship at the Anderson Center, an Adrienne Reiner Hochstadt Fellowship at Ragdale, and a Robert Pinsky Global Fellowship in Poetry. A three-time Pushcart Prize nominee and Best of the Net nominee, her poems appear in Four Way Review, Denver Quarterly, The Cincinnati Review, Shenandoah, Rattle, Mid-American Review, RHINO, and elsewhere.
Brittana “VersatilePoetiq” Tatum is a dynamic Spoken Word artist, educator, and performer from Windsor,
CT. A University of Hartford graduate, she has been performing Spoken Word for 16 years and teaching it
for 13 years. She is Known for her powerful blend of poetry and rap, Versatile inspires youth through her
work with Arts for Learning Connecticut. She’s graced major stages like the Greater Hartford Jazz
Festival and The Trinity International Hip Hop Festival. She continues to amplify community voices
through art and education. As of January 21, 2025 she was named Windsor’s Inaugural Poet Laureate!
We will have an Open Mic after the featured poet's readings.
Teens are welcome to read at the Open Mic!
