Event Details
In this interactive, educational science program, the room is set up as beehives and gardens. Teams race to gather the pollen and nectar as they learn about the lives and jobs of honeybees.
“The Buzz About the Bees” is based on Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). It focuses on the crucial role of honeybees in our environment, the tools of beekeeping, and the amazing 42-day lifespan of these efficient creatures.
Best for ages 6 to 12. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Drop-ins welcome.
The presenter, Mary Kay Rendock, is a retired Bloomfield educator—turned beekeeper—who is excited to share her knowledge. Currently she has two hives and hopes to expand her apiary to three in the spring.
