Program Description

Event Details

Summer is here with all that it brings, including bugs! Join Conservation Energy & Environment Committee (CEEC) members and Viviane Rinaldi, Community Health Educator at the Health District, to learn about low-cost, environmentally friendly ways to help protect yourself against mosquitoes, ticks, and bees.

Topics covered will include the mosquito “bucket of doom” management system, and tick prevention measures and testing services provided by the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District.  Bee-keeper Jessica White will talk about ways to reduce the chances of ground-nesting stinging bees taking up residence in your yard.  Learn about some of the positive environmental benefits that mosquitoes and bees provide.  These bugs aren’t all bad! Time will be allotted for Q&A, so bring your questions!
