Event Details
Things I Wish I Told My Mother by Susan Patterson is a novel about a mother and daughter who are separated by secrets but brought together by love. The story is told from the perspective of Laurie, a free-spirited artist, and her mother, Liz, a world-renowned doctor, as they travel to Europe together and unpack a lifetime of secrets and hopes.
Laurie surprises Liz by setting up a reunion in Norway with Liz's estranged sister, Jeannie, whom she hasn't seen in almost 50 years. The pair also experience misadventures in Paris, including Laurie's amorous one and Liz's aortic one, which help to patch up their strained relationship. As they explore Europe together, Laurie finally starts to open up to her mother.
